Progress check

While knitters outside Estonia are keen on our folk technics, I´m discovering (again) Drops desing. People are never satisfied with treasuries they have at home. Why it is so that the things you don´t have, might look better or more exiting than things you already have? I think the same murphy rule applies to knitting as well...

Ok, so it was mid-May and very-very warm outside and I got an idea about having a knitted skirt. I have to say that I´m a person who likes trouses more than skirt but yeah, this was the idea I got. As I like much drops patterns, I chose one from their collections. It looked nice for me and easy to knit. I´m quite lazy if it´s about creative knitting. I can do lace either folk mittens, I´ve done those but not now, dunno what it is, maybe it´s all about age, mid-age crisis or something? ;)

So here you are, my skirt! Actually it´s a 2nd version as the first one was too big, even to me. The reason why it happend was that I usually don´t read carefully the patterns. It happens quite often that I check the yarn, needles, to some examples to test the right gauge and that´s it. I like to improvise and do things in my own way. So I started to knit and it looked fine until I decided that maybe it´s good idea to try it and check how does it looks like. Well, I had to remove 4 (!!!) motives, because it was too big for me... Ok, I started once again and casted on less 64 stiches. Yes, 64... :D. now it should be ok but I haven´t tried yet.

I just finished with lace pattern and will start with decreasings. Wish me a luck, I may need it.
